By
participating as a sponsor, you will reach a wide section of emerging and niche
markets, which include the Chinese American and Asian American markets, the New
York City tourism market and residents in Fidi and Noho. The fastest growing
NYC neighborhood that borders Chinatown and metro area consumers and China.
Chinatown
New
York City’s
Chinatown is the largest Chinese community in the Western Hemisphere and
located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in
Manhattan. Founded in the late 1870’s by
Chinese immigrants,
Chinatown offers a unique
historical and cultural experience not found anywhere else in the world. The
last few years it has also attracted multi-cultural ethnics to settle here.
Possessing over 40 square miles and inhabited by 150,000+ residents, Chinatown
is also the biggest neighborhood in all of Lower Manhattan. It is the center
for most Chinese American Social Organizations and family Associations.
Asian Americans
Within the
last decade,
Chinatown has become a hub for
the tri-state area’s 4.5 million Asian American community. On any given day,
you will see Asian Americans from diverse backgrounds (i.e. Korean, Japanese,
Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai) converging in
Chinatown
to purchase Asian groceries or enjoying a family meal. In recent years, Asian
Americans have been heralded as the next breakthrough consumer segment by
marketers across the country as they are the fastest growing minority group (6x
the national average) and possess the highest median income (60% have incomes
over $60,000) and education (39% have a bachelors degree or higher) among all
ethnic groups.
Chinatown
Tourism Market
Chinatown attracts over 20 million local,
domestic and international tourists each year. This market is rapidly
increasing due to the development of local bus lines to and from major cities
like
Boston,
Washington
DC and
Philadelphia,
which are making
Chinatown more accessible
than ever. Chinatown is also at the center of many high profile tourist
destinations including Ground Zero, the South Street Seaport, Little Italy,
Tribeca and
SoHo.
China
New
York’s
Chinatown has long been a gateway into the American
market for China-based companies and brands. With global interest in the
Chinese market at an all-time high, many domestic corporations are now looking
towards Chinatown as a threshold into
China. This is not surprising when
you consider the facts: (1) a large percentage of Chinatown residents travel to
China on a regular basis, (2) most Chinatown residents call China on a weekly
basis, (3) Chinatown is a must-see destination for Chinese expatriates and
tourists, and (4) Chinatown-based newspapers work closely with their main
bureaus in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. (5) Tourists from China into New
York and the U.S. are growing at a welcoming rapid record pace.
Main Stream Americans
Due to this
popular parade it has become NYC’s biggest winter festival/parade. It attracts
spectators from throughout
Eastern U.S. and
overseas tourist. With this sponsors get a wider overall market.
